Bendigo Art Gallery

Bendigo Art Gallery is one of the oldest and largest regional galleries in Australia, established in 1887.  Bendigo Art Gallery’s collection is extensive, with an emphasis on 19th century European art and Australian art from the 1800’s, alongside a strong collection of contemporary Australian art.  The collection includes painting, sculpture, ceramics, decorative arts, photography, works on paper, and Australian art.

In line with its growing popularity as Australia’s largest and most impressive regional art museum, Bendigo Art Gallery launched its $8.5m re-development in March 2014

The redevelopment has realised an overall addition of 600sqm of gallery space as well as specialist sub-terrain storage solutions for the Gallery’s extensive and diverse collection of almost 5000 objects.  An expanded and refurbished Gallery Cafe was also launched alongside the opening of this new wing.
